Dr. Charlie Walters has returned to Able SC. Before leaving to complete his Ph.D. in special education at the University of South Carolina, Charlie led our youth transition team until 2019. He has returned to the new role of Senior Education Researcher to help build our capacity for influencing the experiences of disabled youth through high-quality research, technical assistance, and knowledge translation. Charlie’s position represents an exciting step forward for Able SC. Through a formal partnership with the University of South Carolina’s newly established Center for Transition Research and Leadership (CRTL), Charlie’s role is jointly funded by Able SC and the CRTL. In this co-funded position, Charlie will continue to explore, engage, and advocate within the landscape of transition service delivery to ensure that publicly funded systems are providing the high-quality services and supports that disabled youth deserve.
