Transition to the Community

We all want to be a part of the community! Able SC can assist people with disabilities with living where they choose and maintaining their independence in the community. We can help navigate a move from any environment, including nursing homes and other institutions. Able SC also advocates for accessible housing so there are more options in the community. One of our initiatives is to advocate for visitability in new homes that are built. Visitability is a growing trend nationwide. The term refers to single-family or owner-occupied housing designed in such a way that it can be lived in or visited by people who have trouble with steps or who use wheelchairs or walkers.
