Make your plan to vote!

We are less than three weeks away from the 2020 general election. Voting is a crucial way to make sure that you and your rights are represented!

Have you made a plan for how you will vote, yet? You have several options this year: in-person, absentee in-person, and absentee mail-in. Let’s break it down for you:

  1. Vote In-Person on Election Day: Show up to your polling place in-person on November 3, 2020, to cast your vote. Make sure to bring a photo ID with you, such as a driver’s license, DMV ID card, voter registration card with photo, federal military ID, or US passport. Unsure of where your polling place is? Click here to find your polling place.
  2. Vote Absentee In-Person before Election Day: This year, everyone was the option to vote absentee due to the COVID-19 pandemic (“State of Emergency” reason). One way you can vote absentee is by showing up to your county voter registration office or extension office during their hours, up until 5 PM on November 2. You must bring a photo ID, fill out a brief absentee application, and cast your vote. Click here to find your county voter registration office.
  3. Vote Absentee with a Mail-In Ballot: Apply online for absentee voting, or call/email your county voter registration office and an application will be mailed to you. You must submit your absentee application no later than 5 PM on October 30. Once you apply, you will receive your absentee ballot in the mail. Fill out your absentee ballot following the instructions included, and return it to your county voter registration office either by mail or personal delivery. Note: You must have a witness signature on your absentee ballot, so make sure someone in your household is around to sign it.
